Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Sea salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp Smoked paprika (or regular paprika if you don't have smoked)
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano (or dried cilantro)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne pepper (or 1/4 tsp if you like spicy)

Instructions

  1. Stir all ingredients together. Store in an airtight container.
  2. How to use taco seasoning mix: Brown the ground beef (or other meat) first. Then, add 2 tbsp (28 g) seasoning and 1/2 cup (120 mL) water per pound of meat. Simmer until the extra liquid evaporates or absorbs into the meat.

Recipe Notes

Recipe makes approximately 6 tbsp total. Use 2 tbsp per 1 lb meat, with no additional salt - more details in the post above. Serving size is for enough seasoning for 1/4 lb of meat, which would be 1/2 tbsp seasoning.
