Freezing Avocado Slices Or Chunks:
-
Using a knife, slice avocado in half and remove the pit. Create long slices across the length of each half. Scoop out slices with a spoon.
-
In a small bowl, toss avocado slices with lemon juice.
-
Place slices in a bag, then use a vacuum sealer (this one is my favorite!) to suck the air out and seal. Place sealed bag in the freezer.
-
When ready to use, remove pieces from the freezer and thaw at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or thaw in the fridge overnight.
Freezing Avocado Puree For Smoothies:
-
Using a knife, slice avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop out avocado flesh.
-
Place avocado into a medium bowl with lemon juice. Mash the avocado with a fork or use a high powered blender to puree.
-
Transfer the mashed avocado puree into an ice cube tray (I love this silicone one!) and place in the freezer to set.
-
When ready to use, thaw cubes at room temperature for 30-60 minutes or in the refrigerator overnight. Use frozen in smoothies.
Freezing Avocados Whole:
-
Place whole avocado in the freezer.
-
When ready to use, remove from freezer and briefly rinse under hot water. Leave on counter to thaw for about 1 hour or thaw in refrigerator overnight.
Freezing Guacamole:
-
Transfer guacamole to a quart size freezer bag and push all the air out. Lay flat in the freezer until set.
-
When ready to use, thaw at room temperature in a bag of cold water, or in the refrigerator overnight.
