GET IT NOWAs we wrap up 2024, I always love taking a look back at the recipes you all loved most. In the past I’ve sent them in an email (you can sign up for free here and I’ll send you my 5-ingredient recipe ebook!), but this time I decided to make a blog post.
With so many recipes shared this year, it’s always fun (and a little surprising!) to see what stood out. This list includes the top 20 Wholesome Yum recipes of 2024 that you saved, shared, rated, and came back to again and again—and a few are even longtime favorites from past years. Let’s see if your favorites made the list! 😊
Popular 2024 Recipe Trends

- Steak night favorites – It’s clear you all love a perfectly cooked steak that’s simple, flavorful, and tender. And so do I!
- Fresh twists on chicken – I’m not surprised that chicken was the most popular protein, but you were particularly into unique recipes that make chicken exciting again.
- Simple veggie sides – These are my jam, so I love that you love them, too!
- Quick air fryer dishes – Fast, crispy, and foolproof! The air fryer is my favorite appliance, and clearly it’s here to stay for you as well.

Top 10 Brand New Recipes In 2024
Just a heads-up—this is a list of the top 10 new recipes I’ve shared in 2024, not an all-time favorites list! If your go-to isn’t here, don’t worry, it’s still amazing. 😉 Let’s see the best of what’s new.
10. Steamed Cauliflower
Steamed cauliflower might sound simple, but that’s exactly why I think it made the top 10. It’s quick, easy, and goes with literally anything. I love how it’s a blank canvas for flavors. Add a little butter, garlic, or your favorite seasonings, and you’ve got a side dish everyone loves — or the perfect cooked ingredient for casseroles!
9. Air Fryer Salmon Bites
With crispy edges, juicy centers, and ready in just 10 minutes, it’s no wonder they’re a favorite. They’re so versatile—perfect on a salad, paired with veggies, or dunked in your favorite sauce!
8. Air Fryer Potatoes
These are my family’s absolute favorite—they’re crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and loaded with buttery garlic flavor. Faster than roasting in the oven and even simpler than fries, I make these several times a month to go with chicken, steak, or fish… and honestly, I could eat them all on their own!
7. Chicken Fritters
I’m so happy to see these made the list! These chicken fritters went crazy on Instagram. They are pure comfort food and always take me back to my grandma’s kitchen. Crispy on the outside, juicy and cheesy on the inside, they’re my modern twist on her classic recipe—and clearly, you loved them as much as I do!
6. Instant Pot Chicken Legs
Honestly, I wasn’t sure these chicken legs would be exciting enough to make the list, but they really are a classic. What I love about this recipe is how simple it is—just a few ingredients—and you get juicy, flavorful chicken every time. Plus, the option to crisp up the skin? Game-changer. Even my picky kids couldn’t get enough!
5. Skirt Steak
This is such an underrated cut, but when you pair skirt steak with my 4-ingredient marinade and a quick stovetop sear, the results are incredible—melt-in-your-mouth tender with so much flavor. Who needs filet mignon when you can have steak like this on a budget?
4. Lamb Shoulder Chops
I was also really happy to see these lamb shoulder chops make the list! I wasn’t sure if they’d stand out enough, but what I love about this recipe is how it transforms a simple, budget-friendly cut into something that feels totally restaurant-worthy. Bold flavor, tender meat, and easy enough for any night of the week—what’s not to love?
3. Roasted Turnips
Hazarding a guess for why these roasted turnips made the list… maybe it’s because they’re such a fun surprise! They’re crispy and soft like potatoes, but healthier—a simple way to make veggies feel exciting again.
2. Chicken Bites
I feel like anything with garlic butter always gets attention, and these chicken bites are no exception! Juicy, buttery, and bite-sized, they’re perfect as an appetizer or a quick main course—and they never last long once they hit the table.
1. Sirloin Tip Steak
No wonder this sirloin tip steak is the number one new recipe—it’s tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, all while being super budget-friendly. I think you all loved it because it’s a simple, foolproof way to make steak night feel extra special without breaking the bank!

And now, here they are—the overall top 10 recipes of 2024! These are the ones you cooked, loved, and shared the most this year. Many of these are my popular recipes for years, and it looks like you keep coming back to them.
10. Baked Chicken Legs
Strong performer to make the top 10 list—these baked chicken legs are just so reliable. Juicy meat, crispy skin, and simple to make, they’re the kind of recipe you can whip up on a busy night and know everyone will be happy!
9. Lobster Tail
I wasn’t surprised to see lobster tails make the list—they’re sweet, tender, and feel so fancy, but they’re surprisingly easy to make at home. Pair them with lemon butter, and you’ve got a restaurant-quality meal for a fraction of the price! I’m making these as one of my New Year’s Eve recipes.
8. Fresh Salsa
This fresh salsa recipe is my go-to for Mexican night—or any night, really. It’s bright, zesty, and comes together in just minutes. No surprise it made the top 10—it’s so simple and way better than anything from a jar!
7. Juicy Burgers
Burgers are always a crowd-pleaser, but this one? It’s next-level. Juicy, flavorful, and with that golden crust we all love—thanks to my 2 “secret” ingredients. Many of you have commented that these are the best burgers you’ve ever had!
6. Keto Cheesecake
I had a feeling this one would make the list—it’s been your #1 low carb dessert for years! And honestly, I get it. It’s rich, creamy, and tastes just like classic cheesecake, but without the carbs or sugar (thanks to my granulated & powdered Besti). With over 2,000 5-star reviews, it’s clearly a favorite for a reason!
5. Baked Chicken Leg Quarters
These babies are the perfect combo of crispy, golden skin and juicy, tender meat. With bold flavor, minimal prep, and an affordable price tag, it’s no wonder they’ve become a favorite for effortless weeknight dinners!
4. Cauliflower Steak
I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure if cauliflower steak would make the cut—it’s not exactly a ribeye, after all! 😅 But what I love about this recipe is how those caramelized edges and bold flavors make it so satisfying. It’s a fun main dish for vegetarians or anyone looking to switch up their sides!
3. Sirloin Steak
I have many steak tutorials, but this is the one that started it all. So maybe that’s why you keep making it? It’s also my most comprehensive guide on cooking steak.
2. Sauteed Eggplant
I’m not surprised this one made the list—those caramelized edges and tender slices are chef’s kiss! What I love about this recipe is that despite how simple it is (just a handful of ingredients), it turns a humble eggplant into a side dish that goes with literally everything. Maybe it’s the golden crust that won you over, or the fact that it’s so quick and easy to make. Either way, it’s one of my favorites too!
1. Pan Seared Halibut
No surprise here—this pan seared halibut is the top recipe of the year! It’s flaky, tender, and perfectly golden with a simple seasoning that lets the fish shine. I think you loved it because it’s easy enough for a weeknight but elegant enough to feel like a fancy dinner.
What Did You Think?
So, what did you think of the Top 20 Recipes of 2024? Any surprises? Any recipes you loved and were excited to see—or maybe one you hoped would make one of the lists but didn’t?
I’ll admit, I was a little surprised that Tuscan salmon, taco salad, sauteed zucchini, and almond flour chocolate chip cookies didn’t quite make the cut — these have been some of our family faves this year. The zucchini and salad were super popular in the summer with many of you. Were any of these your favorites?
