On a low carb lifestyle, you may already be accustomed to ordering keto at Starbucks or using keto coffee creamer with your brew… but if you haven’t tried bulletproof coffee yet, you’re in for a treat! This keto coffee recipe is so delicious and satisfying that it might replace all the others. I’ll explain why to put butter in coffee, plus how to make it in minutes (with or without a blender), delicious flavor variations, and key benefits behind this rich and frothy drink.
What Is Bulletproof Coffee?
Bulletproof coffee is keto coffee made with either butter or ghee, and either coconut oil or MCT oil. You blend it to make it frothy, similar to a latte. Along with chaffles, it’s become a trend in the keto diet community.
The Bulletproof coffee brand, founded by Dave Asprey, is known for making coffee with butter. Many people use “Bulletproof coffee” generically to describe keto butter coffee, but the company actually has the registered trademark to the term. My “bulletproof coffee recipe” is not endorsed by or affiliated with them, but I do like to use Bulletproof coffee beans with it.
This simple drink has become such a staple in my life that I even included it in The Easy Keto Cookbook. And when I want a sweet bulletproof coffee, I just add keto coffee syrup!

Bulletproof Coffee Ingredients
This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for MCT oil coffee, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For measurements, see the recipe card below.
Main Ingredients:
- Coffee – The original bulletproof coffee recipe calls for mold-free coffee beans free from mycotoxins. However, any high-quality coffee works. Use regular coffee for a boost of caffeine, or decaf if you prefer.
- Butter – Use unsalted, grass-fed butter for the best nutrition and health benefits. This butter has more omega-3s than conventional varieties, which can potentially lower inflammation [*]. Butter in coffee may sound strange, but when blended, it emulsifies for an amazing latte-like feel. You can also use the same amount of ghee or coconut oil if you’re sensitive to dairy, but flavor will differ slightly and the coffee won’t be quite as creamy.
- MCT Oil – MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. These fatty acids, found in coconut oil, are known to aid in weight loss and fat burning [*] — however, there are several types and not all of them are created equal. Look for an MCT oil blend with C8 and C10 MCTs, or just C8 MCTs for the most potent benefits. (This brand is the most cost effective I’ve found that’s still high quality, or get Bulletproof’s Brain Octane Oil.) While coconut oil is an acceptable substitute for texture, it is not as effective as refined MCT oil in coffee.
Bulletproof Coffee Recipe Variations:
- Keto Milk – I used unsweetened almond milk for this keto coffee recipe to lighten up on the amount of pure fat included, but any keto milk you prefer can work — just keep in mind, the flavor may change. You can also omit it altogether.
- Collagen – If you want more protein in your keto macros in the morning (or just want to take advantage of collagen benefits in an easy way), add a scoop of your favorite flavored or unflavored variety before blending. It’s still optional, though.
- Keto Coffee Syrup – For a touch of sweetness with no added net carbs, try these coffee shop-style sugar-free syrups in hazelnut or vanilla flavors. For plain sweetness that mixes easily, try Keto Simple Syrup instead.
- Besti – For sweet flavor without syrup, use Besti Powdered Monk Fruit Allulose Blend. It dissolves seamlessly into coffee (no gritty texture or settling at the bottom, like most sugar substitutes do!) with 0g net carbs.
- Iced Bulletproof Coffee – Want your keto coffee recipe served cold? Use ghee instead of butter, prepare as usual, allow to cool slightly, then pour over ice.
- Bulletproof Tea – Swap coffee for tea! See how with this bulletproof tea recipe.
- Bulletproof Mocha – Add up to a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder to the blender, along with sweetener to taste. For a caffeine-free mocha flavor, try keto hot chocolate instead.
- Pumpkin Spice – For a more bulletproof spin on this beverage, trade the heavy cream for unsalted grass-fed butter in this keto pumpkin spice latte recipe.
- Other Spices – Try a splash of vanilla extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne, or even high quality salt right in the blender.
- Toppings – For a coffee shop flair, top your finished coffee with keto whipped cream, sugar-free caramel sauce, or sugar-free chocolate syrup.
How To Make Bulletproof Coffee (2 Ways!)
This section shows how to make keto coffee with butter, with step-by-step photos and details about the technique, to help you visualize it. For full instructions, including amounts and temperatures, see the recipe card below.
Method 1: Blender
Blend. Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until frothy. Serve your keto coffee immediately.
TIP: You must blend — not stir!
Doing so emulsifies the fats and gets you that creamy, smooth consistency with a frothy top.
Method 2: Milk Frother
Froth. Add all ingredients to a mug or tall glass. Use a milk frother (or immersion blender) to emulsify until frothy, then transfer to a mug if needed. Serve your bulletproof coffee immediately.
TIP: If using a milk frother, leave room for expansion.
Frothing in a mug works best if it’s large, or do it in a larger jar before transferring to a mug. If the liquid is close to the top, it will overflow when you froth it.
Bulletproof Coffee Benefits
Why drink coffee with butter? Aside from tasting like a delicious latte, learning how to make bulletproof coffee keto comes with several key benefits:
- Energy – Rather than causing a jittery feeling, butter in coffee supports a slower release of caffeine. That’s because fat takes more time to break down; blending creates small droplets of this fat called micelles, which bind to caffeine molecules for a more sustained feeling of energy [*]. It can even help with avoiding keto flu.
- Focus – A steaming cup of bullet coffee keeps me super focused when I’m working. MCT’s, which stand for medium chain triglycerides (not to be confused with the bad kind, these are not that!), are a very clean form of energy that is efficiently metabolized by the liver. So, that helps with both staying focused and energized [*].
- Appetite suppression – Using butter in coffee makes it more filling, all while keeping insulin levels low. A good bulletproof coffee recipe does a great job of curbing your appetite, thanks to the MCTs [*]. I drink it in the morning and am usually set until a late lunch.
- Supports ketosis – The MCTs in keto coffee have been shown to help reach ketosis (on a high fat low carb diet) more quickly and to support good ketone levels for this lifestyle [*, *].
Does Bulletproof Coffee Break A Fast?
Whether bulletproof coffee breaks a fast depends on your definition of fasting. Traditionally, anything with calories breaks a fast, so it does not align with this strict approach. However, drinking keto coffee while otherwise avoiding calories may still help you gain some of the benefits of intermittent fasting on keto, such as lowering blood sugar levels, without the typical drawbacks of hunger and mental fatigue. If you’re drinking it while otherwise fasting, it may be best to skip the optional add-ins.
Storage Instructions
- Store: Keep leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Mix again before serving.
- Meal prep: Mix softened butter and coconut oil together, then freeze in an ice cube tray. Pop a cube or two in your blender before adding hot coffee and mixing. Keep in mind, MCT oil does not freeze well, so this method works better with a minimal amount (or just substitute it altogether with coconut oil, which will solidify).
- Reheat: You can serve your cup of keto coffee cold, or warm gently on the stovetop or in the microwave. However, the fats will usually separate, so you’ll want to blend or froth it again before drinking.
- Freeze: Use a shallow container or ice cube tray to freeze blended coffee. Thaw overnight before reheating and re-blending, or blend from frozen for a cold bulletproof coffee.

0I do intermittent fasting and don’t eat from 8pm until 12pm the next day. Will this interfere with that?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Meghan, This will break your fast. Consider consuming this during your eating window to maintain your fast.
Rita
0I’m new here and I would like to know what is in MCT Oil?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Rita, MCT oil is made up of medium-chain triglycerides from coconut oil or palm kernel oil. Although not a necessary part of the keto diet, it provides a dose of healthy fats to your diet.
Nancy Russell
0MCT oil also helps to make you feel fuller, longer:)
Belinda Smith
0I make bullet coffee all most every morning, sometimes I use cream or 1/2 &1/2 (1/4 cup) of SF saltedcaramel skinny syrup , delish☕delish.

0Your link to bulletproof for the discount is not valid. Has it changed recently?

0Hi Darlene, Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I have updated the links – thank you!
Brandi
0Hi. I love your information but the web page is so full of pop ups and stuff coming at you and loading that it’s sooo hard to scroll and read without having to move stuff out of my reading. Very frustrating.
Coffee is amazing though!!

0Was lovely, but only used 1/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk and vanilla protein powder instead of collagen.
Anu
0Thanks for the recipe! Just a note, ghee is not dairy free (clarified butter), but it is lactose free.
Marie
0This is delicious. Thank you.
Lori
0Don’t forget you can use Heavy Whipping Cream instead of Almond Milk which some don’t care for- or are allergic to- its is only 1-3 carbs depending on the brand. I have been making this for 2.5 yrs now- its filling and delicious- tastes like dessert. Make sure you put the collagen in cup first then coffee then froth- then add butter froth, then oil froth, then cream- froth it all up into a latte- YUMI love all your recipes Wholesome Yum!!
Tamsin Pape
0Hi I have always had a pretty high keto diet but got more strict with it last year as well as having a detox and managed to shift that extra stone of toxic belly fat which is great as my IBS of 15 years has cleared! I love the look of these bulletproof coffees as I don’t have breakfast anymore I usually fast but I will have a drink of some sort. Usually, an herbal tea or a b vitamin natural drink or a brunch-time shake. I am missing that morning coffee though.. saying that I do not drink any caffeine as it really doesn’t agree with me. I do have organic decaf coffee I have now and again. Can I make a bulletproof coffee using decaf instant coffee or does it have to be coffee beans to make this? I don’t have a coffee machine. Will it taste the same ♀️
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Tamsin, Yes! Decaf instant coffee will work great with this bulletproof recipe. Enjoy!
Christina
0but watch the FAT content.. Count your own macros from each ingredient because these nutritional values underneath the recipe MUST be wrong. that doesn’t even cover the value of a teaspoon of butter let alone all of those ingredients. :/
One of these coffees, according to the ingredients I have in front of me..
– Coffee black: 0 and 0 calories
– Butter, 1 tsp (13gr) : 10.7 fat, 97 calories
– Raw Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, 1 tsp 13.5 fat, 120 calories
– Almond milk (because it would be weird having this without milk) let’s say 50ml in your coffee: there’s another 12 calories
So, I just don’t understand how people fit this bulletproof coffee in esp when they put full tablespoons of these in or put whipped cream on top too?!?! This cut down version I just wrote is already 25gr fat and 220 calories! For one coffee that better be filling enough to last you half the day without eating.. :/ :/ Ps – with whipped cream it’d be 1.5 time that too.. Tell me how you guys have this each day? Do you eat like birds? I’d LOVE to have this in a day but not at the expense of an entire meal.. I’m soo curious to know
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Christina, Absolutely the nutrition will vary according to the brands you use. I do wonder if you are reading the labels as 1 teaspoon when they actually say 1 tablespoon? 13 grams of butter is much closer to a tablespoon than a teaspoon.
Squeaky
0I make this with instant decaf espresso all the time! Sometimes I want a coffee and a snack in the afternoon, and it’s so quick to just boil water, pour in my measuring cup with the ingredients, and whip it up with my stick blender, rather than brewing one cup of decaf. I know your original comment is old but maybe someone else will read this. 🙂
Emily Webb
0I started drinking this coffee 2 weeks ago when I saw this recipe. I follow it exactly. I even went through the link to buy this MCT oil from Amazon. I love it! it is very frothy and delicious. I am very saddened however, because I can no longer drink it. I had my cholesterol checked today and it was high. I have never had high cholesterol before and the one suggestion the provider stated was to stop the bulletproof coffee. Any suggestions?
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi Emily, I’m glad you like the recipe. I don’t give medical advice, but if you’re following keto, be sure your doctor is familiar with it as the advice is sometimes different than conventional diets. There is a plethora of reasons for high cholesterol, and ways to interpret the numbers. I also highly recommend this book which helps dispel some cholesterol myths. But as always, no book or website is a substitute for a doctor’s advice.
Lucy Marrello
0what is the difference between MTC oil and coconut oil? I find MCT oil very expensive.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Lucy, MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) oil and coconut oil are very similar. Both contain MCTs, but the MCT oil is at a higher concentration than the coconut oil (which is at about 54%). This means you are getting more MCTs with every spoonful of MCT oil than you are with the coconut oil.
nicole
0Have been making this all week and love it! I usually have to reheat in the microwave just to make it hot again but honestly, it’s the best butter keto coffee I’ve tried.
Emma
0Hi, I’m new to keto drinks! just wondering if I could use ‘vita coco’ coconut milk in my keto coffee & skip the MCT oil, still use ghee? Would this have the same desired effect?
Thank you, Emma
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Emma, Unsweetened coconut milk will work fine, but not coconut water. Ghee is also fine, but it will have a more distinct flavor.
Jane
0Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that I’m moving on to another website, not because of your content or that your recipe is not what I want, in fact I really wanted to read your recipe and try it out but I’m so annoyed by all the advertising I just can’t bring myself to stay. Half my screen is taken up with it! It’s even taking over the comment box as I’m trying to type. I hope you see this as constructive criticism as that’s what it is. Normally I just get peeved and move on but this time I thought I would voice my irritation in the hope you would try to improve things.
Warm regards
Jane

0I agree with Jane
Erin Rich
0Hello! I love this recipe. Except I use a TBSP of Ghee with coconut oil and plant based sugar free vanilla creamer. Do I need to add the MCT oil if the ghee I use already has coconut oil?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Erin, You can skip the MCT oil if you are already using coconut oil.
Anita
0Hi Maya
Thanks for all your great recipes!
How many keto coffees can you have a day? 2?
I’m watching my macro’s and tracking fat and carbs so will take that into account.
Thanks
Anita

0Hi Anita, One per day is ideal.

0I just made this for breakfast and it is way better than I expected! If I wanted to make this at work, would a blender bottle work to mix it up enough? Thanks!
Christy
0I use a magic bullet and it works great. I use about 1/2 the coffee, blend, pour in my cup and top with the rest of the coffee and give it a quick stir.
Denise
0Almond allergy. What can I substitute for almond mik?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Denise, Feel free to use whichever alternative milk you prefer!
Natalie
0First Bulletproof coffee.. made in a single cup blender with no milk. Just Ghee and MCT Oil.. thoroughly impressed! Also one week down in Keto and this is great! thanks for the recipe
Alyssa
0My favorite is Macadamia Nut Milk!! I prefer it over Almond Milk any day 🙂
Amor Partridge
0Hi there, Can I double the recipe and drink it all at once in the morning?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Amor, Sure, that’s fine if you are fat adapted. If you are new to bulletproof coffee, I wouldn’t start doubling right away. A large amount of fat (when you aren’t used to consuming any) can cause stomach upset.
Amor Partridge
0Thank you.
Trista
0I just started making this coffee on Monday and I’ve been using coconut oil because it’s all I had, but now I’m looking into ordering to make the best bulletproof coffee for weight loss.
What would you recommend: MCT oil or coconut oil? unsalted butter or ghee?
Can you tell me why also?
Thanks so much!
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Trista, MCT oil is usually made from coconut oil. It is always in a liquid state, so it is easier to use than solid coconut oil. For that reason, I prefer using MCT oil (or MCT powder), but that’s really a matter of preference. Ghee and butter are very similar in terms of nutritional value. Ghee is lower in dairy proteins, has a higher smoke point, and a stronger flavor profile since it’s basically concentrated butter. If you are trying to cut back on the amount of dairy you consume – then ghee is the better choice, otherwise, both are excellent choices to add to your morning coffee.
Michelle
0Can you use coconut milk instead of almond milk? I just happen to have a can of it.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Michelle, Sure, but it will change the macros using a higher fat milk.
Helly
0After blending everything up , is it ok to put it in the microwave to warm it up again?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Helly, Yes that’s fine.
Van Reece
0I read your recipe with great interest. I’ve heard about this coffee for years but your recipe (and ratings) seem the best. My question: Can I use my Nutribullet as the blender? Will it still froth?
thanks
Van
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Van, Yes, your bullet blender will work great!
Sharon
0Not sure this is a great suggestion. Nutribullets are not meant for hot liquids and the pressure created from the heat will be too great to use this safely. I’d highly recommend not using a nutribullet. I didn’t realize this at first and used mine, which lead to 2 cracked containers that were no longer usable afterwards. Imagine it cracking enough mid-use leading to exploding hot liquid. A blender w/ glass heat-proof container is better.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Sharon, Thank you for the tip!
Stephanie
0If you only add half the ingredients to the Bullet, and use the largest carafe, might it be safer? Hot butter coffee burst everywhere trying it a couple of yrs ago. Now I just use a stick blender in a tall mug, and its perfect!
Cecelia Price
0I’m pretty much dairy free since my body doesn’t agree with it. Would plant-based butter work?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Cecelia, You can omit the butter if it doesn’t agree with your body.
Lyss
0Hi! I’m just starting keto and I’m wondering what kind of coffee I should buy for this? Thanks 🙂
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Lyss, No special type of coffee needed here! Buy what you would normally drink and make it “bulletproof” with the ingredients listed! Enjoy.
Shar
0Loved the recipe we used unsweetened organic soy milk and got beautiful froth Was nice to use a little less butter and MCT oil as well. Yum Yum!
Liz
0Is there a reason why I shouldn’t add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract or other flavoring to my recipe? Thanks!
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Liz, Nope, no reason at all! Try it and enjoy.
Carmen Destro
0I just started the Keto diet, I love this Coffee, but since I started this I seem to have acid reflux alot, I take Nexium (Perscription) but it doesn’t seem to help, Any ideas ?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Carmen, Unfortunately, I am not a doctor and cannot comment on medical issues. I suggest you talk with your doctor about your acid reflux.
Windy
0Have you tried Karma Kaffe. It is a powdered mix for bulletproof coffee so there is no oily after taste. I get it on line from Costco.
Also do you know if the sugar Whey Lo is Keto
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Wendy, I am not familiar with these brands. I will have to do some research! Thank you
Mitzi
0Hi once in a while I like to use salted Carmel skinny syrup no carbs or sugar is that ok.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Mitzi, This should be fine to use on occasion.
Eric
0Your keto coffee recipe it’s close to mine. I use EVCO instead of MCT and whey protein powder instead of collagen. A little butter maybe a little shake of cinnamon and a shake of ground cloves really makes for a great coffee. Then there are just plain old coffee and milk mornings too.
Sheryl
0Could you tell me the best brand of MCT oil to use? Thank You
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Sheryl, There are a lot of great brands of MCT oil to pick from. For the most versatility, I suggest picking one that is pure MCT oil, without thickeners or flavoring.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Sheryl, Look for a pure form of MCT oil without thickeners or flavors. That will be the most universal for sweet or savory applications.
Rachael Knight
0We’ve been using this for years now to help cut down with snack cravings. Love your blog and recipes.
Lou lou
0I need mine a sweet. What can I put in therel??
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi Lou lou, I recommend monk fruit allulose blend – it dissolves better than most others and tastes like sugar.
Cathy Cameron
0This tastes so delicious! I’m surprised at how much I like it! I was hesitant to try it, but I did. Now I don’t consume anything almond, so I sub’d Silk brand unsweetened vanilla coconut milk, but that was the only change I made to the recipe. YUM! This will be my keto beverage of choice every morning. Thanks for posting this great recipe!
Colleen Hiku
0Would love to try the bullet proof coffee but not sure about hot coffee in my blender. I like drinking hot coffee.
How does this work or is it only for cold coffee.
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi Colleen, My blender is fine with hot coffee and that’s what this recipe is for, but check if your blender can do hot liquids. If not, you can use a milk frother like I linked in the tools section above the recipe card.
Amy
0I use my ninja blender with the heavy plastic cups every day for my bulletproof coffee. I’ve used it for years now. Never cracked.
Shelley
0i am wondering if i can replace my 3 pm coffee with this bulletproof coffee as well?
is there any harm in having 2 cups a day?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Shelley, It is your preference. Bulletproof coffee adds additional fat to your day, so keep that in mind.
Anne
0I’ve been told that collagen absolutely breaks any intermittent fasting. Only coffee and fat in morning coffee. I believe collagen needs to be taken on an empty stomach so I drink it one hour before my first meal of the day. What do you think?
Meanwhile, thank you for the delicious recipes!
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi Anne, Technically fat breaks an intermittent fast as well, so people who want to very strictly intermittent fast would not drink BPC either. However, personally I do intermittent fasting and handle the BPC within the fast just fine, collagen included, and still see the benefits of the fast. It just depends on you and the reasons for fasting. If you’re fasting for autophagy, both the collagen and fat would be an issue. If it’s for weight loss, likely both would be ok.
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi Anne, It depends on your goals. Some people define intermittent fasting as only water, some say water and black coffee, some say water and coffee and fat, some say anything liquid with no carbs. It’s a spectrum and you can try things out to see what works best for you.
Loreta Bllaci Brandbyge
0Hi Anne, If you are concerned about the IF, then you are correct; you should not use collagen at all. The key of IF- weight loss lies In the maintenance of low insulin levels in the period between the meals. Collagen is a protein and, just like glucose but not fat, it is a trigger of Insulin release. So, you would be still fasting as long as you don’t consume proteins at any point during the fast.
James Johnson
0Well reading your article just made me realize that I’ve been using WAY to much of ghee and MCT. I put 2 tablespoons of each in my butter coffee. Lol I love your recipe with almond milk.
Maya | Wholesome Yum
0Hi James, There isn’t exactly a “wrong” amount to put in, but with BPC I always like to make sure it’s filling enough but not so filling that the calories crowd out other nutrients in your diet. 🙂
Antonella
0Love this version of bulletproof coffee, I’ve been making mine with 2 teaspoon of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of butter grass fed & coconut oil, it’s curbs my hunger so much.
Margo
0I’m 3 months in to my Keto diet and I’ve been playing around with the butter coffee. I discovered the MCT was upsetting my stomach, but after reading your recipe, I see that I was using way too much! Now I’ll try it again using just 1 tsp. I also use a Keto coffee powder containing MCT and grass fed butter among other ingredients. I still add a small pat of butter, unsweetened almond milk, a sprinkle of cinnamon (or sometimes Pumpkin pie spice), and monkfruit sweetener. I put it all together then put it in the microwave, mainly to melt the hard butter. Then I froth it. I was using an immersion blender, but thought I’d try my Magic Bullet blender. It came with blender cups with handles that I can drink from without having to wash a container. Hardly any cleanup involved and the froth was the best ever!
Della Hall
0Can you use any butter? Or does it have to be unsalted, ect?
Wholesome Yum A
0Hi Della, grass-fed, unsalted butter is typically the norm… Though a small number of people do enjoy it with salted butter!
Ilona
0OMG this is my 1st time trying BULLETPROOF COFFEE and I love it, thank you very much
Cookie
0I enjoy yur recipes! What a blessing. I make yur bagals once a week, and freeze them. Buying a coffee maker this week. I’m excited about your bullet proof coffee. This is new for me! Tks so much. For SHARING yur skills w/us.
Kristine Louis
0Made this coffee for me and my husband. Used oat milk. Turned out fabulous!
Lynda Bresnahan
0Hello, I’ve been watching and reading from many different resources and it’s left me with more questions than answers. It seems the more I learn about Keto, the less confident I feel in my diet. As a newbie I feel it’s important to keep it simple in the beginning and not complicate things too much. So I am doing the best I can until your book is released because I believe it’s going to be a great tool in helping me achieve my goal. Thank you!!!
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Lynda, There are many different forms of keto and information overload is real! Please don’t overwhelm yourself trying to learn them all. In the beginning, it is easiest to pick one person, website, or resource to follow and then get going from there. As you learn how to keto, you can make the changes your body needs.
Traci
0Can you use a plant based butter that contains coconut? Or do you HAVE to use ghee or grass fed butter?
Wholesome Yum A
0Hi Traci, many plant based butters contain other inflammatory vegetable oils, so I wouldn’t recommend that. If you want a plant-based substitution, I would suggest plain coconut oil.
Barbara
0I have a two speed 2 pc handheld immersion blender (one piece is the blending stick, the other is a whip); I also have a Nutri-Bullet which is not recommended for hot beverage use … my question is two-part:
Have you tried using cooled or iced cold coffee to get the same flavor result? And have you tried using any handheld blender?
Wholesome Yum A
0Hi Barbara, if you have a whisk-type attachment for your immersion blender, that would be the next best tool. Definitely keep your hot coffee in a heat-safe mug if you go that route. You might be able to make an iced version of this, but the butter needs to be fully blended while the coffee is hot first.
